Villa Marsta

Private residence

Photography Richard Lindvall

The initiative to take a 17th-century farm from the central Swedish region of Hälsingland and reassemble it in the countryside just outside the city of Uppsala, stands as a remarkable endeavour. At its heart, a central hearth bridges two rooms, with an antique iron cannon accentuating its historic depth.

Richard Lindvall’s vision for the residential project was to harmoniously fuse the farmhouse’s traditional architecture with modern elements, a philosophy brought to life with a sleek stainless steel kitchen. The essence of the building is a thoughtful interplay between the historical and the modern, enriched with details from Friends & Founders, capturing the soul of the past while embracing the aesthetics of the present.
